Razer reveals ‘Project Valerie’ with three giant screens that can be folded

Gaming PC maker Razer unveiled a concept laptop based on the company’s existing Razer Blade Pro at CES 2017 in Las Vegas yesterday. The concept known as ‘Project Valerie’, this laptop expands from one to three displays with the press of a button solving the problem of setting up a pair of additional screens to complement a laptop display while gaming.
All the three monitors are all 17.3-inches 4K IGZO displays with Nvidia’s G-Sync anti-screen tearing technology enabled, which add up to a resolution of 11520 x 2160 with Nvidia’s Surround View. When the user decides to go from one to three screens, the additional displays automatically deploy, aligning themselves with the primary.

Valerie weighs around 12 pounds and is 1.5 inches thick when it is folded up and closed. Razer said this was comparable to many standard gaming laptops, which tend to be heavier than home and office devices. On the specifications front, it includes a GTX 1080, 32GB of RAM, and the fancy vapour-chamber cooling solution found inside the Razer Blade Pro, which stops the heat from building up. Also, it has the same mechanical keyboard as the Blade Pro. In addition to a backlit keyboard, it has lighting strips under the two side monitors, which project an ambient glow onto the surface beneath them.
