Ubuntu Debian-based Linux is the world’s most popular free and open source operating system. Canonical, the company behind this OS, that is the platinum sponsor of the upcoming Mobile Developer Summit 2015  in Bangalore. There, they will  also be hosting our  India’s first ever Ubuntu Hackathon.
At the Ubuntu Hackathon, Canonical will be giving away great prizes to the winners. If you are good  at developing new things, you might just win the Ubuntu Dell laptop and BQ Aquaris E5-HD Ubuntu Edition.
Canonical had announced the first  Ubuntu Hackathon to be held next week in Bangalore between October 15-16, 2015.

Canonical writes that Bangalore is a developer hub, so it’ll be great to meet all the talented developers from all parts of India and watch them hack the latest operating system coming to the Indian market.
At the hackathon, there will be 4 award categories:
  • Most innovative Award – most exciting projects
  • Best Group Award – best team demo/presentation
  • Best Rookie Award – the fairly new to the development world, quick learner of Ubuntu
  • IoT special prize – brings an IoT/snappy core idea into their project

The winners of the Most innovative Award will get a 20,000 (INR) Snapdeal voucher + Ubuntu Dell's laptop* + Aquaris E5-HD Ubuntu Edition smartphone. The second category winners will be gifted an Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu Edition smartphone (per person in the group, max. up to x5) + x3 passes to the  Mobile World Congress 2016.
The winners of the Best Rookie award will be gifted an Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu Edition + 1 Bluetooth Vivaldi speakers. Winners of the last category will be gifted with some cool collectors item Ubuntu Matchbox – the Raspberry Pi 2.
